Monique Thomas is a Birmingham-based Christian artist who, since releasing her debut album ‘Unbroken’ last year, has become a singer to watch.
Both secular and Christian radio stations have added tracks from ‘Unbroken’ to their playlists; one of Monique’s songs, ‘Daughter Shine’ reached number one in various r’n’b charts, and she scored a hit in the Australian charts with a song she’s co-written. Not only do people love Monique’s album, they love her live performances, too. She has been support for numerous leading US acts, including Eric Benet, Avery Sunshine and Dwele, whom she supported in the Midlands and at the prestigious Jazz Café.
In late 2011, Monique went on tour with classical pianist, Roy Todd and, in February 2012, visited India as an Ambassador for Christian charity, Compassion. She now raises awareness of child poverty and the needs of mothers raising children in difficult circumstances.
Monique’s future is bright. Expect new music from her on Universal Music’s dance label, Central Station, some live performances in the UK and abroad, and a new album in 2013.
