An organisation which helps ethnic minority firms compete for contracts with multinationals is hosting an event for businesses in the creative industry sector.
MSDUK is holding a “Meet the Supplier” event for SME’s in design, marketing, print and PR where the network’s ethnic minority businesses (EMBs) can meet with corporate suppliers.
The event, which will take place in London, is part of a quarterly series of networking sessions it hosts for members across the year in various sectors including IT, HR, Construction and Legal.
MSDUK has helped EMBs win an estimated £60 million of contracts since it was formed in 2006 and now has corporate members which include Mastercard, Johnson & Johnson, Barclays and GlaxoSmithKline.
Mayank Shah, CEO at MSDUK, said: “This is another great opportunity for corporate firms use supplier diversity as a means to drive innovation and save money.
“For ethnic minority firms it is a great way to network and talk to corporate firms about their needs.”
The event will see EMBs meet buyers from corporate companies such as KPMG, IBM, Pitney Bowes, Marsh, Tyco, EDF Energy, Coca-Cola, Citi, Enterprise Rent a Car, Sodexo, AIG, Accenture and Johnson & Johnson.
MSDUK, based in Leicester, currently has over 37 corporate members and over 300 EMBs in its network. The not-for-profit organisation is funded by its members and offers support and networking while promoting business opportunities.
It recently unveiled ambitious long-term growth plans by electing an executive committee of six entrepreneurs from within its network to help grow and strengthen its current offering.
The Meet the Supplier event will take place at the Grange Holborn Hotel on April 30 from 2pm.
