The Feast of Tabernacles (ICEJ) is set to attract over 5,000 Christian pilgrims to Jerusalem between the 16th to 21stOctober

The Feast of Tabernacles, hosted by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, is opening in Jerusalem from the 16th to 21st October and will be drawing a crowd of over 5,000 Christian pilgrims from over 100 countries.

The Feast of Tabernacles is a colourful, Christian celebration of the biblical festival of Sukkot. Spread over six days, the Feast of Tabernacles offers pilgrims the opportunity to enjoy prayer and worship sessions, seminars and speeches in the newly built Pais Arena, Jerusalem’s sports, cultural and entertainment centre.

The line-up this year is the best so far, featuring such speakers as Dr. Samuel Rodriguez; president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Council; Billy Wilson, president of Oral Roberts University and revival leaders from around the world.

Celebrations start in Ein Gedi, an oasis that lies on the shore of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. One of the highlights of the festival includes the annual Roll Call of the Nations, when each country represented at the Feast is recognised.

Over the past 36 years, the Feast of Tabernacles has revived the ancient tradition of the gentile nations coming over to Jerusalem to worship God alongside the Jewish people. It also has a prophetic pull, as the prophet Zechariah (verse 14:16) envisioned a time when all nations would come to Jerusalem to worship the Lord and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

The Feast of Tabernacles has become a major annual statement of Christian solidarity with the nation of Israel, as pilgrims have previously made the journey even during times of serious political conflict.
