67,024 visitors attended the Ideal Home Show at Christmas and Eat and Drink Festival 2017. The Ideal Home Show at Christmas 2017, which is organised by Essex-based events company Media 10, showcased over 300 exhibitors from the worlds of interior design, home accessories, Christmas goods and food and drink, giving visitors an early Christmas experience.
A total of 67,024 guests enjoyed the festivities throughout the show’s five days from 22 to 26 November. Thursday 23 November and Saturday 24 November proved busiest, with a combined total of 30,773 visitors exploring the event.
The annual Christmas show featured a host of famous faces, including passionate TV-chef Gino D’Acampo, MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace and Great British Bake Off winners Candice Brown and the newly-crowned Sophie Faldo. Lovable cook Rosemary Shrager, flamboyant interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, reality TV-star Calum Best, dating-expert Nadia Essex and tipples-professional Olly Smith also appeared.
For the first time ever, the 2017 show hosted The Eat and Drink Festival, offering guests an additional foodie experience. Providing inspiration for all with an extensive list of festive recipes and unique food ideas, festival visitors shopped a selection of unusual gifts for the food-lovers in their lives as well as sampled a taste of Christmas from around the world.
Show exhibitors across all sections from interiors and Christmas gifts to style and food commented on their success. Hope Holeman, marketing executive at Ginger Ray, supplier of original and innovative crafts and decorations commented: “This has by far been the busiest show we’ve had this year, with lots of people through the door. It’s been a huge success.”
Irene Colesby, founder of Stich In Time added: “Olympia is such a wonderful venue and the presentation of the show is so beautiful and fabulous. This year, there’s been a fantastic atmosphere, which has brought lovely receptive customers. It’s been one of my best shows ever!”
Phone accessory brand Jelly Bone, which launched in March of this year, also experienced high sales with sales manager Debbie Thornycroft commenting: “As a new business, we really came along to build brand awareness, but the show has proven to be really successful and everyone has been loving it. Many customers have commented that we’re just as good as some of our high-end competitors, but only cost a fraction of the price!”
“It was great to welcome so many visitors to the show, as well as many faces we haven’t seen before due to the new Eat and Drink Festival. This year, we focused on ensuring the show was easier for people to navigate their way around and I really think that’s paid off. With many exhibitors reporting higher-than-expected profits, it really has been a huge success all-round. We look forward to welcoming visitors back to Olympia in 2018.” said Giles Perry, Event Director of Media 10.
The show’s sister event, the Ideal Home Show 2018 returns to Olympia London between 17 March and 2 April. Tickets are available now from www.idealhomeshow.co.uk.
