24-Hours of Carols In Aid Of Domestic Violence Charity

Manchester based radio station, Vinejuice Radio, is kicking Christmas off by hosting a 24hour nonstop #CarolAThon live on their station in aid of ‘Cherished Hearts’, a charity working to help vulnerable women and children escape abuse, domestic violence, addiction and prostitution.

Vinejuice Radio hope to raise £2500 during the 24-hour show which will also be streamed on Facebook Live and YouTube from 12pm on Friday 22nd December through to 12pm on Saturday 23rd December.

Joining the Christmas fun and singing their favourite carols will be key personalities such as MOBO award winner Lurine Cato, BBC’s Gospel Choir of the Year winner ‘The Big Sing’, Dove Award winner Jonathan McReynolds, the UK’s leading faith TV channel TBN, Hip Hop artists Faith Child, Shopé, Dru Bex and much more.

Adaeze Chiwoko, co-founder of Vinejuice said, “I’m so excited for the Carol-A-Thon. It’s going to be an amazing way to spread some Christmas cheer and round off 2017 by giving back – which is what Christmas is all about. We’re really pleased that so many people are taking the time out to make this an epic online event. We’re hoping to have thousands of people tune in throughout the 24 hours, raise awareness around domestic violence, and encourage people to give.”

Cherished Hearts exists to give hope to women and children on the margins of society and enable them to begin to walk away from life-controlling situations that keep them in bondage. When asked about the charity, Cherished Hearts founder Helen Spicer said,

“We really love these women. We don’t just do this as a job we genuinely love them. Our vision is to be able to buy a house where we can give these women a safe place to be with their children and offer them a greater level of support. Were so excited about what Vinejuice Radio are doing for the women we support.”

To add, Lavinia Goddard, co-founder of Vinejuice, said, “Having experienced domestic violence myself, it means a lot to me to be able to support Cherished Hearts and help them to keep doing the great work that they do for the people that need it the most.”

Listeners and viewers will be encouraged to donate to the cause via the Vinejuice JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/cherishedhearts
