Alpha International and Hodder Faith are delighted to announce a new publishing partnership

From 3 May 2018, Hodder Faith took responsibility for all trade publishing on behalf of Alpha International. World rights (excluding North America) were secured by Hodder Faith on eleven core titles and all new trade publishing,whichfrom this date will be availableexclusively from Hodder’sdedicateddistributor,Bookpoint.

The partnership will be launched with reissues of The Jesus Lifestyle, Searching Issues and A Life Worth Living – written by the vicar of HTB and pioneer of the Alpha Course, Nicky Gumbel – followed by further new editions and thepublicationof new titles.

Of the new partnership, Andy Lyon, publishing director at Hodder Faith said:

Hodder & Stoughton was established in 1868 to publish ‘Christian and other good books’ and celebrates its 150th anniversary of doing so in 2018. Hodder Faith is the UK’s largest Christian publisher, with a range of bestselling titles and authors such as The Shack by Wm Paul Young, The Reason for God by Timothy Keller and The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. Hodder Faith is the UK and European publisher for the New International Version of theBible, whichiscelebratingitsfortiethanniversary in2018/2019.

Alpha is a series of sessions typically run over 11 weeks. It includes food, a talk and discussion in small groups. Alpha has now been adopted by all the major denominations including Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, and Salvation Army Churches. Also from Alpha: The Marriage Courses, The Prayer Course, Leadership Conference, and Bible in One Year.

HTB Church is an Anglican church in the heart of London, with a vision to play their part in the evangelisationof the nations, the revitalisationof the Church and the transformation of society. They are one church that meet on four sites over eleven services.

Nicky Gumbel is the pioneer of Alpha. He read law at Cambridge and theology at Oxford, practised as a barrister and is now Vicar of HTB Church in London. He has written a number of books including Questions of Life, Searching Issues and A Life WorthLiving.
