International Classical Artist Audrey DuBois Harris Releases New Single to Gospel Radio

International classical recording artist Audrey DuBois Harris and multi-genre artist Damien Sneed release new CD project, “God Bless America.” The five-song EP features the title track along with classic and contemporary compositions: “Amazing Grace,” “Give Me Jesus,” and “Precious Lord Take My Hand,” which was recorded with Jerroll Lehman. Her new single, “God Can Do Anything But Fail,” written by DuBois Harris and produced by Sneed will impact Gospel radio on May 7. “God Bless America,” released April 6, is available at digital retail outlets everywhere.

“‘God Bless America’ is a prayer for God’s blessings and peace for the nation,” said Harris. “Each song offers a message intended to unite our humanity through faith and love.”

“I am also thrilled to release ‘God Can Do Anything But Fail,’ as my new single,” she continues. “I wrote it while thinking of the many things God has done for me in my life. No matter what we may face, it’s a reminder for us to always keep the faith and never doubt the power of God.”

Millions know DuBois Harris for singing for President Barack Obama and the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. She is also known on the world stage for her extraordinary vocal abilities in opera, classical, jazz, sacred, gospel and inspirational music.

Sneed, a Sphinx Medal of Excellence recipient, is best known for his work with Aretha Franklin, Jessye Norman, Diana Ross and Wynton Marsalis. A pianist, organist, vocalist, conductor, composer, producer, arranger, and arts educator, he has been featured in the New York Times multiple times for his work in various genres.

Longtime friends, music collaborators, and once recital partners, Sneed and DuBois Harris, have known each other since their high school days, where both participated in, and won an out-of-state music competition in Alabama. “God Bless America” is one of several projects that they are slated to work on this year.

“Damien Sneed is a tremendous multi-faceted artist; with the ability to seamlessly create inspiring music of varying genres and styles,” said DuBois Harris. “Collaborating with Damien on ‘God Bless America’ is a shared vision and an unmistakable choice.”

Sneed says he looks forward to working with Audrey on several upcoming projects. “Working with Audrey has always been one of my greatest dreams come true.”

“America is in a state where we need to come together in unity and love,” he continues. “‘God Bless America’ is extremely timely during this season. I know this EP will be a blessing to every person that hears it. The sound of Audrey’s voice along with the poignant lyrics contain healing for the mind, body, and soul.”

DuBois Harris and Sneed recently joined Reverend Jesse Jackson for a series of MLK50 events commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in Memphis, Tennessee. She sang an inspirational rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at the Mason Temple COGIC service, where Dr. King delivered his historic “Mountaintop” speech, the night before his death. Sneed and DuBois Harris also participated in “A Day of Remembrance” event at the National Civil Rights Museum.

“To listen to Audrey is to hear the soul and science of music,” said Rev. Jackson. “Her singing, interpretation and presentation is what music looks and sounds like.”

Jackson also invited DuBois Harris to perform at the annual Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee service in remembrance of “Bloody Sunday” on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Alabama, where Jackson and U.S. Representatives John Lewis and Terri Sewell led this year’s march.

This summer, the Juilliard graduate will record a new CD project with Sneed and conductor and arranger Dr. Lloyd Mallory. The album is scheduled for release in fall of 2018.
