Company EdTech, offers conferences and summits across the globe, that aim to address how technology is used in education, and to showcase current and prospective approaches of using the latest and upcoming technologies to educate the young people of today.
With today’s generation being raised amongst vast technology and innovation, it’s events are becoming more popular every year, and 2019 is looking to be extra special!
The organisation has announced that due to great interest in their events, they will be hosting a summit throughout Africa, EdTechXAfrica; which will be a two-week ecosystem tour across the country, starting on the 5th of February 2019.
The tour is powered by EdTechXGlobal, Injini and IBIS Capital and will span across five different African cities; Cape Town, Johannesburg, Dar es Salaam, Nairobi and Lagos; offering attendees the chance to showcase their ideas and the opportunity to network.
So how does this relate to property? Well, with apps, online bookings, websites, and technology meaning that market processes are quicker than ever, there is a strong need for the generation of today to be tech savvy and ahead of the game; no matter what field they are looking to work in.
It has been estimated that by 2024 four out of the five regions of Africa will have over 50% of its population living in urban areas, and as a result, private developers and some governments across the continent are backing over 1 billion square meters of land reclamation and new city projects, which is costing over $115bn, to cater to the region’s growing urban centres.
It will be interesting to see what steps tech savvy individuals are taking to help bring new and usable technology to the property sector in Africa.
