MIPIM PropTech NYC2018, an event which unites key real estate decision makers from across the globe; will be giving the mic to one of its key speakers, Dolapo Omidire, Founder of Africa’s largest commercial property database, Estate Intel.
A report issued by Estate Intel states that by 2024, Four out of the Five sub-regions of Africa will have over 50% of its population living in urban areas. This in turn could lead to a capacity problem, and as such a result, private developers and some governments across the continent are backing over 1 billion square meters of land reclamation and new city projects, which is costing over $115bn, to cater to the region’s growing urban centres.
Dolapo created the company due to the lack of centralised and actionable data on the most important commercial real estate market indicators for effective decision making.
Their web application has built a means for developers to gain access to analysed and structured data, allowing them to make data-driven decisions is crucial in the increasingly competitive African real estate marketplace.
Another influential speaker due to take the mic is Ryan J. s Baxter, Founder of Promoting Access to Specialised Schools in New York City (PASSNYC). He is also an adviser for the Young Eisner Scholars Program (YES), which helps to reshape the landscape of low-income communities by empowering underserved students to fulfil their greatest potential; with participants of the program having a 95% college graduation rate from the best universities across America.
The event, which is being held at The Metropolitan Pavilion NYC, provides a chance for businesses and individuals to showcase and promote technology ideas and innovative solutions, offering a competition for start-ups and the chance to find out what technologies are shaking up the real estate industry.
