The second Amazing Women Awards took place on Saturday, 30 March, at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, Kensington, London and it was another resounding success.
Since Saturday, founder Roz Thornton has been inundated with floods of praise from attendees and winners alike.
Vanessa Vyapooree :
Roz Thornton you floored me today at the Amazing Women Awards! I have no words. The women awarded today are truly deserving of the word AMAZING! Celebrating unsung and unknown women. You have no idea how many lives you changed today!
I would like to applaud your vision, tenacity and courage in putting together something of truth, meaning and value upon our planet in honour of these women. They were all so exceptional but different. What stood out for me was the fact that they had all fallen to depths of despair and in the face of adversity had not been content to become bitter, but had risen up and wanted to use the experience for the benefit of others….
The sell-out event set up in 2017 to recognise the achievements of women all over the country, whore achieving incredible achievements against all the odds with no recognition, attracted women not only in the UK this year but from as far afield as Sri Lanka.
“All of the stories of women nominated for awards brought us to tears of both joy and sadness. Tribulations and triumphs”,
says, Speaker Valentina Barbacci.
“One recipient escaped her own honour killing by her in-laws” continues, Valentina. “She recovered and eventually went on to train and educate the UK police force on a crucial gap in their skill set and awareness to appropriately deal with such cases.”
“Once again, the Amazing Awards surpassed all my expectations,”
“ The words fabulous, powerful, amazing seem too small some how. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making this such a successful and special day! Especial our main sponsors Give as you Live.”
The next Amazing Women Awards will return in 2021. Anyone who’d like to sponsor or support the event is urged to contact Roz at email@example.com
