The Real Easter Egg, which includes a copy of the Easter story in the box, is to feature in the Highclere Castle Easter Egg hunt on 21st April 2019. Highclere Castle is best known for doubling as Downton Abbey in the popular TV series.
More than 1,500 children are expected to attend and there will be a full size Real Easter Egg for children who take part in the hunt. It is expected to be the UK’s largest single event Fairtrade Easter Egg hunt this year.
David Marshall, from the Meaningful Chocolate Company, said; “We are delighted to supply the eggs for this world famous place. It’s a great opportunity to promote Fairtrade, there is a copy of the Easter story inside each box and a competition to win £200 worth of book vouchers. If you can’t make it to Highclere, you can buy your own Real Easter Egg from Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons, Waitrose or directly from our website www.realeasteregg.co.uk

About the Real Easter Egg
Out of the 80 million chocolate Easter eggs sold each year in the UK, The Real Easter Egg is the first and only Fairtrade chocolate Easter egg with a copy of the Easter story in the box. Launched in 2010, more than a million Real Easter Eggs have been sold with 750,000 of these sent through the post directly to churches and schools. The success of The Real Easter Egg has meant that key parts of the production of Fairtrade chocolate has moved to the UK. Over £275,000 has been raised from sales for charitable causes. In 2013 it was voted the UK’s favourite Fairtrade Easter Egg.
