Andy Hawthorne OBE, Founder and CEO of The Message Trust, is about to take on one of the toughest challenges of his life – cycling 913km across the highs and lows of the Canadian outback in just eight days, to raise funds for The Message Trust.
Andy and a team of 16 brave cyclists will head to Canada on the 3rd May 2019 to take on this huge feat.
From the starting line at Banff National Park they’ll cycle across the Canadian Rockies and climb a mammoth 30,000ft on their bikes, before reaching the finish line in Vancouver. Along the way they’ll cycle up Canada’s Grizzly Mountain before descending into the famous Icefields Parkway.
The team are all pushing their bodies to the limit by taking on this massive challenge but are doing it because they love The Message.
For the past 27 years The Message have been sharing the good news of Jesus with the hardest-toreach young people across the globe in schools, prisons, disadvantaged communities and beyond. They’ve seen thousands of lives transformed as young people choose to live their lives fully for Jesus. But there is so much more to do.
The aim of the ride is to raise £175,000 so The Message can help set up eight new EDEN teams, build a new Message Bus and continue developing their work with prisons and ex-offenders.
“This is one of the toughest things I’ve ever done, but I’m doing it because I love The Message and want us to be able to tell more of the least, the lost and the last about Jesus. I’m really excited about the opportunities that are opening up for our ministry at the moment, but we need the finances to be able to seize these,”
said Andy Hawthorne OBE, Founder and CEO of The Message Trust.
“If you could help us make these hard miles a bit easier by sponsoring us that would be amazing. Any amount no matter how big or small would make a massive difference.”
