The UK’s First Personal Identity Check has been launched

A new, innovative service has entered the market, allowing buyers, sellers and online daters to verify the identity of the other party and transact.

With digital and rental fraud on the rise, offers a value-for-money and simple way to verify the identity of a third party, reducing the risk of fraud and scams.

On its way to disrupting a new era of transactions, this verification process is quick and simple; checking that the details supplied by the other party is matched to a UK credit record in the name provided.

Between April 2014 and 31 March 2018, £22 million was lost to rental fraud, with would-be tenants paying an upfront fee to rent or secure a property that either didn’t exist, or the ‘landlord’ had no connection to. With the number of people privately renting by 2025 expected to rise to 7.2 million (PWC), this issue will get worse. is the passion project of Neville Williams, a Trading Standards investigator with over 20 years’ experience in law enforcement. Neville is also an accredited Financial Investigator, who having seen the damage that fraud can cause, set out to create a platform that helps to fight this rising crime.

Neville states that his team’s aim is:

“To make the transactions between buyers and sellers more transparent – fostering trust between the two parties. If things do go wrong, then it’s essential that you know exactly who you were dealing with so you can resolve it. If the verification process reveals that the person you’re dealing with is not who they claim to be, then you can back out before any money or goods have been handed over.”

How the check works

Both parties need to sign up to the verification process. The person being verified uploads an identification document. Once this is done, a fee starting at £9.99 is paid and the check is carried out. Both parties then receive the results. Easy to use, value for money and reliable.
