Vocal coach and Choral Arranger Mark De Lisser will host ‘Meet the Street at Xmas’ – airing from 16th December.
Christmas is a time when people come together and when music fills the air. But even in an age when we are more connected by technology than ever before, it seems people are feeling increasingly isolated. In this heart-warming five-part series, renowned vocal coach Mark De-Lisser (Our Dementia Choir, Children In Need: Got It Covered) brings his musical skills, charisma and enthusiasm to explore our modern day crisis in communication to meet people who are especially cut off from others and affected by loneliness.
In each self-contained episode, Mark goes out into the community to create a choir group made up of those who will positively benefit from the lasting impact of coming together such as stay at home parents, retirees, those who are cut off by transport links, and people with mobility issues. Regardless of their vocal abilities, Mark teaches each group to sing so they can ultimately put on a performance at the end. United by a genuine need and desire to make meaningful connections with others, Mark will unlock people’s inner voice and show them the joy of coming together through singing – one group at a time.
Meet The Street at Christmas will air on BBC One Daytime in the run up to Christmas 2019.
