Host, Rev. Canon David Richards said:
“Around the globe, many people have used the lockdown as an opportunity to explore or deepen faith. As we move into a different phase of the pandemic, this is a welcome opportunity for church leaders and worshippers in the UK to learn how to respond as restrictions in the UK begin to ease.
Since the COVID-19 lockdowns began, churches around the world burst into online spaces to worship and connect with one another while physically apart. During that time, World Vision and Alpha partnered to host a virtual Church Leaders’ Café – where church leaders from around the world connected online, shared prayer and supported each other through the challenging season. Church leaders from over 40 countries joined in the conversations.
Canon Richards continues,
“The way New Zealand is tackling the global pandemic has been encouraging with faith leaders and churchgoers continually learning to adapt to changing restrictions. As the lockdown eases in parts of the UK at different speeds, and church buildings start to re-open, there are lessons we can learn from the experience of other countries.”
