Dear Church Leader,
We never imagined when lockdown commenced on 23rd March and we had nine months of ministry, missions and meetings cancelled that my wife Killy and I would be busier than at any other time during our forty-one years of ministry. We have ministered in more churches and places than we could have imagined. Despite restrictions the doors of opportunity have flung open.
A major focus of our ministry over the years has always been Christmas and since my early days in ministry I have spoken at over 800 Christmas services and one year spoke at 36 carol services!
This year Christmas will be different from any Christmas we have ever experienced before. It is wonderful to see churches commence ‘live’ services but with continued social restrictions it is good that live-streaming continues to give accessibility to many more people at home.
We may be in the midst of a global pandemic, but we Christians will celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ into the world as our Saviour. In my ministry, I have found Christmastime to be the most fruitful season of the year as both the ‘fringe’ and ‘beyond the fringe’ show more interest in Jesus Christ than at any other time of the year.
This year, I am offering to preach an evangelistic Christmas message in every church that would like me to.
Please will you prayerfully consider allowing me to preach an evangelistic message to your church that can be shown to those who attend a ‘live’ service and to those who watch online? I will record a 28-minute talk entitled ‘Christmas Unwrapped’ which will include the opportunity to receive the gift of Christmas – Jesus Christ – with a prayer of commitment. The talk can be broadcast on any Sunday in December and as many times as required.
Should you choose to join us on this ‘Christmas Unwrapped’ initiative of bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible this Christmastime, we will send you a number of items which you can choose to use in your online service:
· A Christmas message, recorded in our new purpose-built TV studio.
· A Bible reading by David Suchet.
· What Christmas means to me, by Sir Cliff Richard.
· A recorded Christmas song from Matt Redman.
· An animated re-telling of the Christmas Story for children.
· Social media graphics which you can use to promote the Christmas service.
We do not want finances to be a hindrance for churches wanting to use this material and so we are offering it for free. Can you please prayerfully consider making a donation to help us cover our costs? Your support will be gratefully received. We will also donate 20 per cent of any gift we receive and this will be donated to Christians Against Poverty and the Trussell Trust. Christians Against Poverty helps to release families from grinding poverty through debt counselling and community groups. Trussell Trust supports a nationwide network of food banks and provides emergency food and support to people locked in poverty in the UK.
We are praying this Christmas that many people will come to know our Saviour Jesus Christ.
