HRH Prince of Wales Honours First Black Headteacher in the UK

Yvonne Connolly is finally getting the recognition she deserves after dedicating over 40 years in the field of education.  The Naz Legacy Foundation will honour the achievements of the first Black Headteacher in the UK at their Annual Reception on Thursday 8th October 2020. HRH Prince of Wales will announce Yvonne Conolly as the recipient of the 2020 Honorary Fellow of Education, through a special video message and the Secretary of State for Education, Rt Honourable Gavin Williamson MP, will present the award to Yvonne.

In addition to the celebratory messages by HRH Prince of Wales and the Secretary of State for Education, the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP, mentioned Yvonne’s remarkable achievements in his Black History Month Address widely shared across social media.

This Award is a celebration of the contribution the Black Community have made and continue to make in the field of education in the UK. The Award celebrates the real trailblazers and our hidden heroes, who often fail to get the recognition they deserve.
