Prophecy expert says America is beginning to “speak like a dragon”

Author and theologian Steve Wohlberg has studied eschatology for over 40 years, and one of his particular areas of study has been the identity of the lamblike beast described in Revelation 13:11 which Wohlberg believes represents the United States of America. Wohlberg bases his view on the parallels found between Revelation 13 and Daniel 7 which describe the rise of four great beasts—a lion, a bear, a leopard, and a dragon. “Daniel 7:23 plainly says that these beasts represent four mighty nations which scholars for centuries have applied to Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome,” says Wohlberg. “A beast in prophecy represents a great nation, and the lamblike beast in Revelation becomes a mighty nation in the end times as it rises ‘out of the earth.’ The four beasts of Daniel 7 all rose out of the sea, or water, which Revelation 17:15 says represents vast multitudes of people. In contrast, America’s rise in a sparsely populated region perfectly fits ‘out of the earth.’ The ‘lamblike’ part indicates that this is a new nation, with Christ-like features.”

Wohlberg believes the further detail of the nation having “two horns” without crowns, contrasted with Revelation 13:1, describes America as well— a democratic nation rather than a monarchy, with a distinct separation of powers. Wohlberg says recent events also point to some additional end times prophecy coming to fruition.

“The fact that the U.S. has recently helped broker a peace agreement between Israel and the UAE once again reveals its strong influence as the mighty nation described as having ‘two horns like a Lamb,’” says Wohlberg. “Yet prophecy predicts that in the closing moments of time, the U.S. will deny its constitutional principles of freedom and ‘speak like a dragon.’ I believe we are beginning to see this unfold right now. The pandemic has shut down businesses and churches, bringing constitutional issues to the forefront. It is certainly not far-fetched to imagine that if the world continues descending into crisis times, that just like Covid-19 has been used as a reason to shut down much of the world, even so could a future, larger ‘public emergency’ be used as a reason why our constitutional First Amendment rights should be trashed.”

In his newest book, Approaching Armageddon,” Wohlberg establishes the validity of predictive prophecy in the first few chapters. His book then focuses on prophecies from Jesus about the end-times and outlines them point by point for the reader, showing not only how New Testament prophecies fall in line with Old Testament predictions, but also how an entire cluster of current events are rapidly fulfilling biblical prophecies. The book discusses the biblical battle of Armageddon itself, including what it means, where it occurs, who is involved, and who will win.

“When the dust settles,” Wohlberg declares, “a fabulous future of hope and love awaits those who choose to be on God’s side.”

this beast has spoken like a dragon since its inception. It has a christian appareance (two horns like a lamb)
it spoke like a dragon during the slavery period and oppression . Ellen White and the pioneers like Joseph Bates and James White were very outspoken on this issue. James White says “Many things are esteemed sacred in America; the most sacred thing is slavery. The Constitution is held sacred, but not so sacred as slavery. When the two come in contact it is the Constitution that has to give way. When the Constitution is found to be against slavery it is the Constitution that is to be “amended.” . . . Liberty is held sacred; but not so sacred as slavery. Where slavery appears, liberty hides her head and vanishes, of course . . .
The Bible is held sacred; but not so sacred as slavery. Its Decalogue, its golden rule, its law, its gospel, are all revised and set aside by the code of slavery. It annuls marriage, with- holds the Bible, enforces labor without wages, and sells the temple of the Holy Ghost as a chattel, and remains a Bible in- stitution still! . . .
Nationality is held sacred; but not so sacred as slavery. When slavery calls for secession, nationality is cast off as an abhorrent thing. James White, “The Sacredness of Slavery,” Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, 11 June 1861, 17.

John Lonbourough wrote ” America is the most degraded at present, morally and re- ligiously of all free and Protestant countries. “It is the reproach of evangelical Christendom . . . Her slave holders defy God and man, and the freemen of the free states sacrifice their po- litical freedom and the personal rights of the Negro to a low and noisy political party. The United States are to us a greater grief than heathendom and popery for the names of Christian- ity and Protestantism, of civil and religious liberty are blas- phemed through them. Oh, that the free states may burst their fetters, get rid of the accursed thing and join the mother coun- try in leading the march of Christianity and civilization.”

Its Character. This is all revealed to us in one sentence,
short indeed, but abundant in meaning: [Rev. xiii, 11:] “And
he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” Out
of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh; therefore
the animal has a dragon’s heart. His disposition, his motives,
intentions, desires, are all like a dragon; his outward appear-
ance, his horns, which must of course be prominent objects to
the beholder, his open profession, are all lamb-like. His ap-
pearance is good enough, and we might be led to look upon
him as a whole, as quite an amiable creature, were it not that
when he raises his voice in acts of authority, he speaks as a
dragon: like the old fable of the ass in the lion’s skin; if he
only had not brayed, his fellow-beasts would have taken him for a lion

Its a beast not a lamb, today it continues to speak like a lamb through its conduct, and failed foreign policies and many wars. nuclear Bombing civilians , failed wars like Afghanistan etc..
