Students in the UK are being punished for holding certain values.
Julia Rynkiewicz, a final year midwifery student, was forced to suspend her studies and faced a fitness to practise investigation over her involvement with a pro-life society.
In an extreme example of student censorship, Julia faced expulsion from her degree after lecturers raised concerns about her involvement with the Nottingham Students for Life society.
See her story in the video below:
With the support of ADF International, Julia’s case was reviewed and her suspension was lifted.
It brings us great joy to say that Julia is now expected to graduate and become a midwife later this year. Now, we want to help ensure that no student has to endure the ordeal Julia went through. Please join us in signing this open letter to Boris Johnson, urging him to ensure universities uphold freedom of speech. There is a good chance that the government will act soon to better protect freedom of speech. Your show of support could make a real difference.
