Leading Christian event Wise Women Awards to go virtual on March 13

For the first time in its history, the Wise Women Awards, one of the premier events in the black church calendar, will hold its annual award ceremony online on Saturday 13, March 2020 at 3pm.

WWA founder, Pastor Marjorie Esomowei, is encouraging people to put on their best clothes, and set up their computers screens so that they can attend the WWA ceremony in the comfort of their homes.

Pastor Marjorie stated,

“I’m pleased we will be celebrating last year’s winners by hosting the 16th  Wise Women Awards online on Saturday 13 March. This is an exciting development for us as it’s the first time that the Wise Women Awards will be held virtually.”

Pastor Marjorie added,

“The ceremony will be uplifting, exciting and inspiring, and bring to the fore women making a difference in the church and their communities.”

The Wise Women Awards 2020 was originally scheduled to take place last year, but due to the government announcing details of a lockdown in the week leading up to the awards, the event was postponed.

The online WWA ceremony taking place on March 13 will feature musical performances from Clif and Marie, speeches by Christians leaders and influencers, including Pastor Agu Irukwu Senior Pastor of Jesus House and Head of the Redeemed Christian Church of God UK, and the presentation of the long awaited awards to nominees.

A total of 25 awards will be presented.  Recipients will include Tessy Ojo, CEO of the Diana Awards winner of the WWA Women of the Year Award, Business woman Martinah Moh, Publisher, Shirley McGreal, BBC Presenter Nikki Tapper, Gospel Singer Ni-Cola Witter and Young leader Shermara Fletcher.

Pastor Marjorie, who is founder of Wisdom for Women International started the WWA in 2005 to publicly recognise the contributions of Christian women in the church and wider society.

Over the years the WWA has grown to become a respected event, and the awards highly coveted.

Pastor Marjorie stated,

“I believe this online event will mark a new era for the Wise Women Awards.  More people will have the opportunity to  hear about the great things God is doing in the lives of Christian women here in Britain.  It’s going to be a great night.”
