Mercy first opened the doors to their residential home in 2006. Since then they have seen hundreds of women set free from life-controlling issues such as self-harm, eating disorders, depression, and the effects of abuse in all its forms.
Every pound raised will go towards helping women like Sarah*. Here she is, in her own words, telling us about the transformational journey she went on:
“This time, 4 years ago, I walked through the doors of Mercy closer to being dead than alive. I had no hope for my future and I was drowning in a pit of constant suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and eating disordered behaviours. I didn’t know who I was, and I was angry at God for putting me on this planet…
“Whilst I was in the home, I experienced love from the staff that I had never known before, even from my own parents. Over the 6 months, God completely melted away the self-hatred and self-destruction and 4 years later, I’m walking in a freedom that I honestly didn’t know was even possible!”
This really is life-saving work. In a recent survey, 63% of graduates believed they would have been dead if they had not attended the Mercy Home. Through the love of Jesus, and their mandate to bind up the brokenhearted, they are able to see so many lives not only transformed but saved!
In addition to their residential home, Mercy now partner with churches all over the country to educate, empower and equip them to see Christians develop their relationship with God, self, and others so that they can live free and stay free.
