Nominations for The Black Honour Awards at The Spirit of the Caribbean Ball
Event company Event Connoisseurs has announced that nominations are now open for the Black Honour Awards which will take place at The Spirit of the Caribbean Annual Ball on 4th June 2022 in London.
The theme for this fundraising Black Tie event is “Around the Islands” highlighting unique facts about each island. The Black Honour Awards will show recognition and pay tribute to the outstanding contribution and excellent work carried out by members of the Caribbean community daily.
Founder Elizabeth Flanders says:
I started this business because I could not find any Caribbean-focused events that remembered our culture and heritage whilst celebrating the positive contribution, we, the Caribbean and those of Caribbean descent, have made to society whilst also honouring our history… I am passionate about creating inspired, exceptional, and unforgettable events. I want to showcase the best of the Caribbean to a UK audience, to celebrate, preserve and grow our rich culture and heritage.
Anyone can nominate an outstanding individual or organisation; all nominations will be reviewed by the panel of judges. Everyone shortlisted is then invited to the Spirit of the Caribbean Ball in London, where the winners will be announced.
The awards categories are:
- Exceptional contribution to Caribbean culture in the UK
- Outstanding personal achievement
- Innovative new black owned business or brand
- Community Development Legacy Award
- Friend of the Caribbean
- Rising Star
- Local Legends
