Sunday School Goes Digital As New Multimedia Raiseupfaith.Com Is Launched

New platform from award-winning content creators behind various CBeebies and CBBC programmes aims to Raise Up Faith in the next generation to live inspiring lives, rooted in Jesus

A new online platform has been launched with the vision to take Sunday School digital., which has been produced by an experienced team of children’s ministry leaders, teachers, technology experts, and some of the leading content creators for CBeebies and CBBC, has been designed to equip and empower youth and children’s ministry leaders with easy to use, high-quality, original, Bible-based multimedia content.

While communicating the gospel to children is just as important as it has ever been, the church today faces some significant challenges:

  • 84% of those professing to be Christians today came to faith before the age of 19, but 0-16 is the fastest declining demographic in the church today.
  • Research last autumn from the Evangelical Alliance showed 24% of churches had reduced or discontinued youth work compared to pre-pandemic, while 17% had reduced or discontinued children’s work.
  • Volunteer numbers have dropped post-pandemic, stretching already strained church resources.

Life for children’s ministry leaders is further complicated as the Covid pandemic accelerated an exponential trend towards multi-media teaching and learning. Multiple studies show children and young people today learn through multi-media experiences incorporated into face-to-face teaching. Finding Bible-based multi-media resources week-in week-out is an additional drain on the time of children’s ministry leaders, which sometimes falls outside their capability.

It was this context which provided the inspiration to develop and launch a new learning and resources platform – offering hundreds of lessons with thousands of accompanying and related activities, including media clips, songs, prayers, crafts, and games. As well as new ministry resources RaiseUPfaith also features teaching from trusted partners such as New Wine, Spring Harvest, Cheeky Pandas, and LZ7. The online platform allows leaders to choose from a fully-scripted lesson plan or independently customise an existing lesson plan to meet their particular context, all in one easy-to-use place. Users can search thousands of activities by Bible passage, character, or theme to support existing teaching series. The designers have also considered the fact that many church buildings lack good Wi-Fi, so all resources and plans are fully downloadable.

Duncan Reid from RaiseUPfaith says: “We want Sunday mornings to be the best part of the week for children and young people, and we want children’s and youth ministry leaders to be equipped and empowered to tell the timeless story of Jesus in ways that are designed to engage children today. Whether we like it or not, young people engage through a variety of media and, given the multitude of content options, children expect the quality of media content in church to be at the standard they are surrounded by every day. That is why we have launched RaiseUPfaith; a cutting edge, but simple to use platform, combined with a library of original and curated engaging, media-enabled Jesus-focused activities and lessons. RaiseUPfaith gives children’s ministry leaders back the time they need to do the really important bit – building deep, lasting relationships with young people.”

Phil Loose, CEO, Essential Christian, the home of Spring Harvest says: “ is a fantastic resource to excite, inform and inspire the future leaders of our church. But more than that, we’re now contending for a generation who have missed out on two years of events, from Sunday schools to youth clubs and larger youth events. Now more than ever, it’s time to equip this generation with true stories of faith that inspire them to follow Jesus and go on their own adventure with Him.  So stand with us, RAISE UP FAITH and start to fight for the spiritual awareness of our nation and our young people. If not now, then when? RaiseUP is without doubt part of the answer in breaking new ground to reach that goal.”
