Global Movement Launches First UK Event To Disciple New Generation Of British Teens Amid Falling Church Attendance Rates

2022 marks the first year that TeenStreet, a global movement of young Jesus followers run by missional organisation Operation Mobilisation (OM), has been brought to the UK. TeenStreet UK will gather Christian teens aged 13-17 and youth leaders from across the UK. The aim is to encourage teens to have fun, go deep in their faith and explore how their giftings can positively impact the world through teaching, worship, and other events.

The event launches as falling numbers of young adults identify as Christian in the UK1. TeenStreet UK (24th-30th June 2022 at The Poplars, Bromsberrow Heath, Ledbury) aims to create an environment that helps to motivate, equip and walk alongside Christian teens to support them in seeking a real friendship with Jesus. They then have the chance to put their new-found skills into action on an outreach trip to Ireland.

Sarah Peek, TeenStreet UK Coordinator says: “At OM we are passionate about seeing teenagers grow deeper in their faith, as part of a diverse, multi-cultural, Jesus-loving community. TeenStreet encourages Christ-centred friendships, equipping participants to share their faith with their friends and around the world. We believe teenagers have a vital part to play in God’s mission right now, just as they are. Their unique set of skills and passions are His tools in them.”

Launched in Germany in 1993, TeenStreet has grown rapidly across Europe to over 12,000 participants from 45 nations, and has been replicated in Brazil, Australia, the Middle East, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

In 2021, TeenStreet leadership organised the first event in a refugee camp, in Serbia, to help support young adults fleeing their countries and who have experienced trauma, rejection, and isolation. The team overcame significant challenges with Covid and restrictions in what they could speak about to engage and provide hope for teens across the week.

TeenStreet is not just for teens, but also for youth leaders, equipping them to serve their youth groups after the event. As well as the week-long summer event, there is a year-round focus on building a multi-cultural community of teens and youth leaders who can meet up and encourage one another in their faith, including opportunities for online training, prayer, and other events.

Sarah continued: “We want to see UK Christian teens grow in their gifts, using them to live out God’s love wherever they find themselves. TeenStreet UK is grounded in biblical teaching, small group support, and includes an array of activities, workshops, and seminars. We look forward to being part of a movement that sees teens live out God’s love at home and around the world.”

Bookings close on the 5th of June for teens and on the 12th of June for teams. For more information or to sign up to TeenStreet UK visit or
