Leading Pentecostal Pastor To Launch Book For Women In Leadership And Aspiring Leaders

CHURCH PASTOR/INFLUENCER TO RELEASE NEW BOOK ABOUT WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

Pastor Marjorie Esomowie, considered a major woman of influence within Britain’s black Pentecostal community, is getting ready for the release and launch of her latest book, The Leading Lady Her Life and Her Influence.

The launch will take place, online, on Sunday 29th May at 3pm. Click HERE to register your attendance.

The book provides an insight into Pastor Marjorie’s thoughts on leadership, her experience of being one of the most recognised leaders within Britain’s black Christian community, and her work empowering and developing other female leaders.

Topics covered in The Leading Lady Her Life and Her Influence include:

Should Women Lead in Church?
Pay Gap Issues,
Gender Bias in the Church,
Becoming a thought leader,
Dealing with Alpha Males,
Developing emotional intelligence,
Overcoming Fear,
Overcoming jealousy and competitiveness from other women

As far as Pastor Marjorie is concerned, female leadership entails a journey of self-discovery, authentic living and having influence. She uses a statement by Warren Bennis about leadership as a key premise for her book. He stated “Becoming a leader is synonymous with becoming yourself. It is precisely that simple and it is also that difficult.”

The journey of self-discovery is one that Pastor Marjorie has gone on herself and in the process become one of Britain’s most well known black Pentecostal church leaders.

Converted to Christianity at a young age, for many years she served as a Sunday School teacher in Nigeria, the country of her birth.

When Pastor Marjorie came to the UK to join her husband Pastor Clem Esomowei in 1995, she came with experience working in management positions in Nigeria’s Banking and Retail sector.

However, here in the UK she started on a path in a new field of leadership when she began co-pastoring Triumphant Church International. It is now a well-known Pentecostal church here in the UK, with branches in several locations across the UK and also in Nigeria and South Africa.

During her years as a leader Pastor Marjorie has established the Wise Women Awards, an event that recognises the contribution of Christian women in the church and society. Recipients have included the Rt Rev Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Bishop of Dover, the Rt Rev Rosemarie Mallett, the Bishop of Croydon, Karen Gibson, founder of the Kingdom Choir, comedienne Angie Le Mar and MOBO award winner Lurine Cato.

Pastor Marjorie also runs retreats, hosts women’s conferences, business events and regular breakfast meetings for Pastors wives and senior leaders. She also works on charitable initiatives which has included buying stationary and school uniforms for Nigerian children and has overseeing the building of an orphanage.

She said, “I now have decades of experience as a leader of a church, leader of women and a leader of leaders, and feel I have something of value to say to women who are leaders and who aspire to leadership.”

“Writing this book has allowed me to share some of the insights I have learnt about leadership over the years.”

Pastor Marjorie said, “I hope that women will see The Leading Lady Her Life and Her Influence as a leadership manual and remember that their faith in God is a requisite for leading successfully.”
