Black History Month | BYP Network Announces A Stellar Speaker List


Speakers include Black professionals renowned in their fields such as Tim Campbell MBE, entrepreneur and winner of The Apprentice, Ade Hassan MBE, founder of Nubian Skin and Will Njobvu from Capital Xtra 

The BYP Leadership Conference is back in full force this October during the UK’s Black History Month. Their flagship annual event has become the go-to conference for thousands of Black professionals from all over the world to share inspiring stories, learn, network, and connect with leading businesses. This year the event will take place in a hybrid model with a physical event on 6 October followed by a virtual careers fair on 7 October. 

BYP has selected a stellar lineup of Black speakers and trailblazers from different sectors to speak at the event. Hosting the event will be none other than tv and radio presenter Will Njobvu. Known for his hilarious podcast ‘Reality with Will’ and radio skills on Capital Xtra, guests are sure to be thoroughly engaged. Tim Campbell MBE will speak at the event, known for being the first winner of The Apprentice and now a successful business owner. 

Other confirmed speakers include:

  • Femi Oluwole – Political Commentator who has written for Metro, Guardian, and the Independent. 
  • Sir Trevor Philips OBE – A Writer and Broadcaster, who served as Chair of the London Assembly from 2000 to 2001 and from 2002 to 2003
  • Priscilla Igwe – The Managing Director of The New Black Film Collective which focuses on getting Black stories getting told on screen.
  • Ade Hassan MBE, Business Founder of Nubian Skin, which specialises in garments for people of colour
  • Natasha Shotunde, Co-founder & Chair, Black Barristers’ Network
  • Flavilla Fongang, founder of 3 Colours Rule and Global Tech Advocates
  • Renee Hunt, Chief Techology Officer of Compare the Market, leading price comparison fintech in Europe
  • Ezechi Britton MBE, CEO of Code Untapped, and also founding Chief Technology Officer of Neyber, a UK-based FinTech company that raised over £200 million
  • Phadria Prendergast, Editor in Chief of WOTC magazine
  • Scarlette Douglas, actor, and host on Channel 4’s Worst House On The Street
