Gospel Heritage Compilation Album Launch Brings in New Era of UK Mainstream Gospel Music Projects
If you didn’t know September is ‘Gospel Heritage’ Month and is celebrated heavily in the USA and has now gravitated to the UK, it segways nicely into October’s, Black History Month to continue the celebration. Music Company Platoon (Apple) spearhead this project believing Gospel Music needs to be celebrated and its top artists showcased. According to GMIA’s Music Historian and Researcher Kevin Tomlin, data shows that gospel music is the third most popular music and those working in gospel music have influenced the wider music industry the most in modern music to the tune of Billions, but that’s another article!
Gospel Heritage launched on Friday, 2nd September at Ruach City Church, Kilburn, London. With performances from the album from Isaiah Raymond, Lurine Cato, Bishop John Francis, Volney Morgan, Juanita Francis, Becca Folkes, Sarah Teibo, and Sharyn, with on-screen interviews from Chevelle Franklyn Sinach and Tim Godfrey,
Gospel Heritage will suit all tastes with gospel genres including Lurine Cato’s Gospel House big tune ‘Lamb of God’ and Isaiah Raymond’s, Reggae ‘Thank You Lord’, and Volney Morgan & New Ye’s, ‘I Still Believe’ – across the Gospel Heritage album you will also hearpop, praise and worship, contemporary gospel, 80s, and much more. The launch had the audience rocking, praising, and full-blown dancing. At one point, the host, Muyiwa of Premier Gospel had to go off-programme and go with the flow. It ended, in what was a great night!
