Support Hope UK’s Christmas Appeal And Your Gift Will Be Doubled

According to a new report from the Commission for Young Lives, primary age children are getting caught up in drugs gangs in increasing numbers.

Recent surveys reported in the media have highlighted the difficulties faced by many children and young people in the UK today.

One in five young people aged 16-25 are using substances to help them cope with problems in their lives – a 75% increase in just one year. We also know that there has been a worrying increase in vaping (e-cigarettes) amongst younger children, up to 9% of 11-15-year-olds compared to 6% in 2021, with one in five girls in this age group vaping. Many young people are not aware that most vapes contain nicotine, as they missed vital drug education due to the COVID pandemic.

Hope UK is counting on your kindness to make a difference in the lives of our children and young people this Christmas – by donating to their 2022 Christmas Appeal.

Your donation, big or small, will enable Hope UK to reach more young people with vital drug
education:

  • £9 will support the cost of delivering a drug education session to one young person
  • £14 will pay for a set of drug samples (fake!) for Hope UK to educate parents, youth workers, teachers and other adults caring for young people
  • £29 will pay for a handbook with over 100 activities for Hope UK’s trained volunteers to use when planning a drug education session.

Donate any day from 1 December 2022 to 20 December 2022 and your gift will be doubled, thanks to a donor who is going to match all gifts up to a value of £5,000! Donations may be made online at: www.hopeuk.org/christmasgiving or by cheque, payable to Hope UK.

Thank you for standing with Hope UK in equipping young people to make drug-free choices.
