New CEO Confirmed for Mission Aviation Fellowship UK

MAF UK is delighted to announce it has appointed Donovan Palmer as its new Chief Executive.

Donovan’s appointment comes as the organisation implements ambitious new plans for growth in order to best serve the world’s most isolated people.

Donovan Palmer said: ‘Years ago, in my teens, I was deeply impacted and inspired by MAF’s story in South America. The commitment of the staff bringing together faith and professionalism to operate aircraft in some of the most difficult to reach places in the world is a unique and extraordinary legacy that has stood the test of time.

‘World leaders have warned that, without concerted action to reach the most vulnerable and isolated communities, the 2030 global poverty goals will not be met.  MAF is at the heart of this world-wide response to a broken world.  I feel privileged to be given an opportunity to serve in this exciting season; pressing ahead into the future and seeing even more lives transformed.’

MAF UK’s Chair of Trustees, Matthew Burton, said; ‘Donovan is joining MAF UK at an exciting time as we seek to grow in order to fulfil our vision to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ.  The need to increase prayer and financial support as well as staff recruitment is greater than ever and we look forward to the flourishing of the MAF UK team under Donovan’s leadership.’

Donovan Palmer is currently serving as Chief Strategy Officer for anti-slavery NGO, Hope For Justice.  Prior to this he was Group Managing Director and CEO of Mercy Ships and UK National Director of YWAM.  Donovan will join MAF UK on 20th February 2023.
