Former Adviser To Boris Johnson’s Government Set To Release New Book And Go On Church Tour
Samuel Kasumu is an award-winning social entrepreneur, commentator, strategist and believer.
He served as Special Advisor to Prime Minister Boris Johnson as the most senior black Advisor in government where he held the Civil Society and Communities brief – his work included leading on the cross-government vaccine deployment confidence programme.
Following his exit from 10 Downing Street, Samuel took time out to travel, reflect, and write. He subsequently signed a book deal with Hodder & Stoughton. In his new book “The Power of the Outsider” Samuel uses reflections from his experience in government and the stories of other outsiders to explore a concept that he believes has not been fully investigated.
Samuel is preparing to go on a nationwide tour to share his time of serving alongside Britain’s Prime Minister, and talk about the themes raised his book, ‘The Power of the Outsider’.
As an entrepreneur, Samuel has been involved in setting up and growing a number of initiatives to support the progression of Britain’s black and minority ethnic population. This includes founding a student network of over 30,000 members connecting peers with employers whilst at university. He went on to create and deliver a campaign that supported over 8000 start-up businesses.
Samuel is the founder of Inclusive Boards, an executive headhunting firm specialising in non-executive board appointments across sectors. Samuel is also an elected councillor and brings extensive knowledge of how local and national government works.
