90s Dance Icon Janice Robinson is set to re-record her huge global hit from the 1990s, Dreamer, (Livin’ Joy) alongside London’s House Gospel Choir.
The single originally went to number 1 in the UK and had further success on the US Billboard Dance Charts and across Europe.
Now, the singer/songwriter and popular choir are set to collaborate.
I grew up singing gospel music since I was a little girl. Today I returned to my roots with a gospel version of ‘Dreamer’ with the amazing House Gospel Choir’. This is going to be a special journey for sure.
Throughout her career, Robinson has toured with Tina Turner for her farewell tour alongside Lionel Richie, sung for Oprah Winfrey and appeared on television drama Charmed. In 2018, she also appeared on The X Factor UK to share her story with the world.
House Gospel Choir added: “Good things are coming! So honoured and excited to work with the one and only Janice Robinson”.
The House Gospel Choir was founded by creative director Natalie Maddix and combines two distinct musical genres – house music and gospel.
The group have performed at Glastonbury Festival, sung with Kylie Minogue for her Infinite Virtual Disco and released tracks with the likes of Ella Henderson and Just Kiddin. In December, the group are set to go on tour with a date at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.
Janice will perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of Ministry Of Sound Classical on 16 September.
