Dress designed for royal wedding features in exhibition

The work of Christian fashion designer and stylist, Jeanette Young, was seen by millions when Karen Gibson MBE wore the dress she designed, whilst directing the Kingdom Choir at the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018.

Now, eight years later, that unforgettable dress will be seen again by the public, as it has been included in The Music is Black, an exhibition at the V&A East Museum highlighting how Black British music has shaped British culture.

The Royal wedding turned Karen Gibson and the Kingdom Choir into one of the UK’s most sought-after gospel acts in the world, and has now cemented Jeanette’s name in history as the woman who created and styled Karen’s memorable outfit.

Jeanette is excited about her dress being included in The Music is Black exhibition. She told Keep The Faith:

I feel deeply humbled and proud to have designed a dress for Karen Gibson to wear for the Royal Wedding, and to now see that same dress featured in the V&A East’s Music Is Black exhibition feels incredibly meaningful, particularly as a representation of gospel music and my Christian faith.
