UK Pentecostal development agency to celebrate 20th anniversary

RAFFA – the International Development arm of the Church of God of Prophecy UK (COGOP) – is getting ready to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a special banquet at The New Parklands, Birmingham on 7th November, 2026.

When RAFFA was launched at the House of Lords in 2006, COGOP was the only Black Pentecostal denomination in Britain to start a charity dedicated to supporting international development, helping communities in need and responding to natural disasters.

RAFFA has worked alongside governments, churches, charitable organisations, community groups and international partners to achieve its aims.

Its first CEO was Rudi Page. Angela Clarke BEM took over the role in 2017.

Over the years, RAFFA has provided humanitarian aid and supported development initiatives. Beneficiary countries include Mexico, the Philippines, Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, Dominican Republic, Syria and Turkey. Just last year, RAFFA mobilised a massive humanitarian relief effort to provide aid worth £200,000 to the survivors of Hurricane Melissa that swept through Jamaica last December.

Aside from its overseas work, RAFFA has been involved with numerous community initiatives in the UK, including supporting organ donation, encouraging people to give blood, and raising awareness of sickle cell anaemia.

Angela Clarke BEM is looking forward to spearheading RAFFA’s forthcoming celebration. She stated:

For 20 years, RAFFA has demonstrated the power of faith translated into action. Its greatest achievement is not simply the projects delivered, but the lives transformed and the hope restored. As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we honour all who have contributed to this journey and look forward to an even greater future of service and impact.
