Silent unity prayer line celebrates 125 years of service

Silent Unity is a confidential, interfaith prayer line which takes thousands of calls, letters and e-mails each year in the UK. Based at Taplow near Maidenhead, we are part of a global prayer network that originated in the US by founders Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in 1890.

To begin the focus was on healing. Faced with profound personal challenges, Myrtle affirmed life, wholeness, and strength through prayer, curing herself of a life-threatening illness, as she repeated to herself the words: “I am a child of God and I do not inherit sickness”.  Since then the prayer ministry that is known as Silent Unity has grown and spread around the world.

Unity’s ministry grew up in the UK in the 1920’s through local prayer and study groups, including London through World War 2. We continue to support people all around the UK and around the world through the power of affirmative prayer.

Silent Unity UK Director Kimerie Mapletoft says: “It is our deep honour and privilege to connect in prayer.  All who reach out to us are part of this sacred circle around the world. It is as we connect in the stillness, with a power greater than us and of which we are part, that our good truly comes forth.”

Silent Unity can be reached on 01628 628916, e-mail silent.unity@unityuk.org, via the web site or letter. The phone line is open from 9.15-4.30pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings . Outside of hours there is a prayer message and voice mail. All names are held in loving prayer for 30 days.
